Kathleen Cora Wilkins Burton

Mrs. Kathleen Cora Wilkins Burton, 91, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. She was born on September 30, 1934 in Yadkin County to the late Lawrence Wilkins and Ella Brown Wilkins. Kathleen was a faithful member of Northwood Baptist Church, where she still attended when she was able. She also loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, James Burton, Sr.; daughter, Karen Burton Cave; and brother, Glen Wilkins. Kathleen is survived by her children, Jimmy (Mary) Burton, Joey (Annette) Burton, Jeanne Burton (Gary) Hutchens, and Jesse (Jennifer) Burton; grandchildren, Jamie Burton, Gracie Burton, Brittany Cox, Lauren Seats, Kalyn Burton, Louann Burton, and Cheyenne Rowe; five great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Sue) Wilkins; and sister, Mary Lou Mullis.

A graveside service will be held at Boonville Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation for all their love and care over Kathleen.
