Kathleen Dalton Speaks

Yadkinville - Mrs. Kathleen Dalton Speaks, 91, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026 at her home. She was born December 6, 1934 in Iredell County to the late Onnie and Rena Dalton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Speaks; and son, Hubert Jeffery Speaks. Mrs. Speaks was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she served as clerk/secretary, primary teacher, intermediate teacher, and adult teacher, and she loved singing in the choir. She enjoyed playing bingo, and attending the Yadkin Senior Center. Mrs. Speaks worked at Yadkin Cleaners, and she was a headstart teacher at many schools in Yadkin County. After retirement from headstart teaching, she worked at Piedmont Village. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and she dearly loved having her family together for family meals. She is survived by her children Robin (Jackie) Speaks, Paulette Tilley, Donald Speaks, Crystal (Thomas) Triplett; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren; her sisters, Dorothy Speaks, Karen Shuler; her brothers, Nathaniel Dalton, Johnny Dalton, and Gilbert Dalton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Speaks family.
