Larry Clay Shore, 82, of Yadkinville, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his home. Larry was born August 10, 1943, son of Marvin Thad Shore and Lottie Johnson Shore. He was married to the love of his life, Brenda Boyd Shore, on May 27, 1966.
Larry graduated from West Yadkin High School in 1962 where he played basketball. He retired from RJ Reynolds in 2003 after 40 years of dedicated service. Larry enjoyed bowling and golf. Larry was a “Ford” NASCAR fan and a Tar Heel fan. He and Brenda enjoyed watching NASCAR, basketball and football. Larry was a member of the AACA car club and charter member of the Yadkin Valley Cruisers, where he served in many roles. He loved his antique cars and John Deere tractor. Before moving to Yadkinville, he was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and later became a member of Maplewood Baptist Church. Larry was saved in 1968.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon Shore (Vickie), Ray Shore (Carol), sister, Betty Lou Morris (George), nephews, Len and Larry Gene Shore, father-in-law, Jesse Boyd, mother-in-law, Betty Boyd.
Those left to cherish Larry’s memory include his wife of 60 years, Brenda Shore, special brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Donna Parish, nieces and nephews, Jesse Myers, Marty Morris, Jo Cooper (Glen), Gina Armstrong (Walker), Van Shore (Angie), Vernon Shore (Sharon), Arnold Shore (Charles), Gail Swaim and many special friends that felt like family.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with burial to follow in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Lancaster and Rev. Phillip Brown officiating.
The family would like to thank the friends who have reached out in support during this difficult time. They would also like to thank the Yadkin County Sheriff Department, Yadkinville Police Department and Yadkin Emergency Services for their exceptional care at the home and for their quick response.
