LaRue Hemric

Mr. Stephen LaRue Hemric, 60, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was born September 6, 1965 to Stephen Gregg Hemric and Terri Burgess Hemric. He was preceded in death by his father Gregg Hemric and a brother, Robert Cody Hemric. LaRue retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement after serving 37 years in various roles at multiple Regional Distribution Center locations. He loved his RDC family, and was quick to tell everyone how proud he was of those with which he worked. He was most recently involved in running a landscaping business, Trim & Chopper, with his business partners Chris Dixon and Traci Nab whom he met at Lowe’s. LaRue loved spending time with family and friends, farming, hunting, fishing, golfing, antiquing, attending toy and gun shows, riding horses, watching Westerns, and was a huge North Carolina Tarheels fan. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sons, Stephen Kaleb (Carrie) Hemric, LaRue Logan Hemric, LaMar Lariat (Celyna) Hemric; his brother, Gregg Jaret Hemric; sister-in-law, Kerri Shore Hemric; nephews, Robert Carson Hemric, Darius Colt Hemric; grandchildren, Weston Kruz Hemric, Mila Jordyn Hemric, and Kaison Creed Hemric. He is also survived by multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville, with Rev. Kenny Pardue officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, or Union Baptist Church building fund in Hamptonville. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lynn Poindexter, Kimberly Caudle, and all the local rescue services that responded.
