Lauraetta Charles Burnett

Hamptonville Mrs. Lauraetta Charles Burnett, 83, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Hinkle Hospice Home. Mrs. Burnett was born September 22, 1939 in Davidson County to George and Beatrice Parks Charles. She was a member of Longtown United Methodist Church. Mrs. Burnett always had a very positive attitude and she loved to travel. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burnett was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert “Bob” Lester Burnett. She is survived by her two children, Kenneth Trogdon and Sharon (Scott) Laws; stepchildren, Brenda (Carroll) Flack, Lynn Mintz, and Renee (Todd) Bullington; grandchildren, Madison Laws (Cameron Eller) and Cade Laws; 6 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne (Linda) Charles and George Charles; special K-9 companion, Rusty; friend/family, Loretta Shirley & family; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Longtown UMC with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Longtown UMC 1416 Longtown Road Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center, Hinkle Hospice Home, and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Burnett.
