Mrs. Lucy Lillian Haynes Ashburn, 93, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025. She was born October 27, 1931 in Surry County to the late William Foy Haynes and Gracie Lillian Hutson-Haynes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ashburn; a daughter, Polly Worrell; and a grandson, Bruce Wayne Hall Jr. Mrs. Lillian loved reading her Bible every day. She enjoyed crocheting and going to church. She is survived by her children, Gracie (Ronnie) Martin, Johnny (Janet) Ashburn; grandchildren, Sherry (James) England, Clint (Karen) Worrell Jr., Sean (Tonya) Worrell; great-grandchildren, Alisha Dillion (Mayes), Andrea Dillard, Kimberly Wiles, Chelsea Hall, Walker Hall, Faith Worrell, Makaela Worrell; great-great grandchildren, Laken Mayes, Brayden Mayes, Bradley Dillard, Anna Dillard, Bo Shinault, Mya Dillard, Cade Shinault, Elijah Mayes, Titan Taylor, Hayden Coppersmith, Liam Coppersmith, Waylon Merritt, Maddox Allen, Everli Merritt, Aurora Hairston, and Devine Rose. The family will receive friends, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Pastor Ron Chamblin and Rev. Aubrey Casstevens officiating. Burial will follow at Beulahland Non-Denominational Church Cemetery in Jonesville. Gentry Family Funeral Service of East Bend is serving the Ashburn Family.
