Linda Pardue Ford

April 22, 1941 — February 28, 2025

Jonesville

Mrs. Linda Hope Pardue Ford, 83, of Jonesville, peacefully entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. Born on the 4th, the 22nd of 41, in Yadkin County, she was the beloved daughter of the late Sherman Ladeaux “Lake” Pardue and Madonna Messick Pardue.

Linda devoted her life to caring for others, a calling she embraced from a young age. She began by working alongside her family in the tobacco fields before joining Unifi, Inc. Later, she found her true passion in nursing, earning her C.N.A. and serving patients at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital until retirement. Even then, her heart for service continued as she provided compassionate private-duty care throughout her community.

She was a woman of deep love and quiet strength, always placing her family at the center of her life. A talented cook, she filled her home with the warmth of good food and even greater love. She treasured time with her grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to check in on "the babies." Whether enjoying her daily newspaper and mail, watching her “stories” and Wheel of Fortune, or making treasured flea market and GoodWill trips, she found joy in the simple things. A true woman of habit, she never compromised on making nightly phone calls to family and friends or enjoying her beloved buttermilk and orange drinks.

Mrs. Ford loved her independence, going to Bojangles, Wendy’s, and Aunt Bea’s in Mt. Airy, getting little birthday cakes for her grandchildren, and always responding “I’m Fine” when anyone asked about her.

Though she was of the Methodist Faith and attended Baptist churches throughout the years, her faith was steadfast, and she lived with the comforting assurance of God’s grace. She often reassured her family, saying, “I know my Lord and Savior, I am at peace, and you don’t have to worry about me.”

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Ford; her son, Joel T. Ford; her siblings, Shannon, Jerry, and Junior Pardue, and Trudy Pardue; and her son-in-law, Danny Zachary.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in her devoted daughters, Gwyn Zachary, Dawn Norman, Libby (Mike) Whitaker, and April Bates; cherished grandchildren, Chelsea (Brian Mandel) Norman, Karsyn (Caleb) Martin, Chloe Ford, and Keradyn (Logan) Hayes; and adored great-grandchildren, Magnolia Brown, Teegan Martin, and Tripp Martin. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Jones, Vivian (Bud) Royall, and Marian West; her brother, Terry (Sandy) Pardue; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday in the Gentry Family Chapel, officiated by Rev. Danny Dodds and Dr. Charlie Kennedy, with burial to follow at Island Ford Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of the 9th floor general and 8th floor palliative care teams at Forsyth Medical Center, as well as Mountain Valley Hospice, for their unwavering support and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 243 North Lee Ave, Yadkinville, NC 27055, in honor of Linda’s lifelong dedication to caring for others.

To God be the glory, great things she has done.
