Hamptonville - Linda Johnson Norman, 73, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 4, 2026.
She was born on April 30th, 1953 in Iredell Memorial Hospital to the late Horace (Buster) Johnson and Sally (Juanita) Johnson. Linda was known for her strength, courage, and her love for the Lord. Linda was a faithful servant always sharing the gospel and bragging about the goodness of God. She was a member at West Yadkin Assembly of God.
Linda loved going to the beach, being around friends and family, and being out on the farm. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball at Lone Hickory and working in the chicken house. She will be remembered for her contagious laugh, strong will, and her love for the Lord.
Linda is survived by loving husband, Joe Norman; daughters, Wendy Cheek (David Eldridge), Amy Galliher (Shane Burcham); grandchildren, Krista Norman, Seth Cheek; brother, Rex Johnson (Diane); sister-in-law, Willene Johnson; and many special in laws, nieces, nephews & their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Sally Johnson; brothers, James “Sonny”, Buddy, Randy, Stanley, and Gary Johnson; sister and best friend, Teresa Wyatt; in laws, Jack and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Norman; brother in law’s, Bill, Gene (Babe), Bob Norman; and sister-in-law, Doris Crews.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, May 11, 2026 by the Rev. Bobby Jenkins Jr., the Rev. John Byerly, and the Rev. Jerry Ireland at West Yadkin Assembly of God. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends two hour prior to the service on Monday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at West Yadkin Assembly of God.
The family would like the thank Dr. Andy White’s staff in Statesville, Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, special thanks to Earlene Gunter, Sylvia Mitchell, Kimberly Gunter, Judy Mitchell and Debbie Norman for being by her side, and our family and friends for all the many of prayers.
