Linda Brown Scott, 82, went to her heavenly home on November 11, 2023. Linda was the daughter of Buford and Hattie Brown. She graduated from East Bend High School, then retired from Sara Lee with 55 years of service. Linda was a member of Forbush Friends Meeting where she was responsible for the bulletin for many years. Linda enjoyed going, watching, and cheering for her granddaughters in sports as long as her health permitted. AND always pulled for UNC Chapel Hill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Wade Scott; daughter, Susan (Russell) Wright; brother, Hassel C. Brown, Sr.; and niece, Jeanna Brown. She is survived by a son, Jason (Beth) Scott; grandchildren, Brittany Evans, Curtis Evans, Nicole Scott, and Natalie Scott; three great-granddaughters; brother, Dayton (Sandra) Brown; brother-in-law, Roger Scott; sisters-in-law, Ann Scott and Nora Brown; brother-in-law, Johnny Shore; and several nieces and nephews.
The family has been very blessed with so many people who have helped and supported them during this difficult time. Her cherished friends, Carol Rockett and Carolyn Williams, and all the Union Cross Road Friends for all the care, love, and compassion given. Thank you, home care givers, Angie and Sherri. Thanks to Jerry for the “visits” with her meals, to those “phone” friends that she spent hours with. We thank Mountain Valley Hospice, Novant ICU and Palliative Care staff of Winston-Salem, for the care given there.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Forbush Friends Meeting with Pastor Mitchell See and Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice of Yadkin, 243 N. Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC 27055, Forbush Friends Cemetery Fund, Mary Wooten, 2821 Mill Hill Road, East Bend, NC 27018, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Gentry Family Funeral Service of East Bend is serving the Scott family.
