Loretta Walkoviak Smith

Hamptonville Mrs. Loretta Stephanie Walkoviak Smith, 93, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Gordon Hospice Home. Mrs. Smith was born August 20, 1929, in Chicago, IL to George and Stella Novivinski Walkoviak. She was of the Lutheran faith. Mrs. Smith loved her family and making a home for them. She was an avid reader, always current on politics. She readily adopted new ideas and loved being around young people. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Smith; and a son-in-law, Alan Lawton. She is survived by her six children, Sandra (Thomas) Coletti, Barbara Lawton, Patti (Kevin) Hughes, James Kimon Smith (Michael Singer), Bobby (Linda) Smith, and Steve Smith; grandchildren, Geoffrey Kimon Smith, Jeanette Nicholson, Shawn Mehegan, Athena Horton, Chad Hughes, Chelsea Smith, Clint Smith, Katrina Smith, Cory Smith, Margaret Luthy, James Coletti, Elizabeth Luthy, John Coletti, Philip Coleeti, and Martha Rhodes; great grandchildren, Emily, Karen, Charity, Loretta, Adam, Ryan, Calista, Thomas, Bethany, Abigail, Titus, Tristan, Conrad, Christopher, Aimee, Heidi, Tyrel, Samantha, Elijah, Jensen, Evan, Andrew, Leo, Shaloh, Isabella, Maddie, Reilly, Brendan, Stone, Jessie, Cole, Aidan, Haskel, Amalia, and Gianna; and great-grandchildren, Jase, Monica, Mariah, and Hannah. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Union Grove Amish Church with Bishop Mark Schlaback officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00PM, prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Gordon Hospice Home for the loving care given to Mrs. Smith.
