Louis was a faithful member and deacon of East Bend Baptist Church. He loved his church and served in many capacities over the years. He was instrumental in getting the church involved in missions in Honduras. He enjoyed traveling there on several mission trips and made many friends who were special to him, especially a young lady named Belkys whom he adored and sponsored from the time she was a young child and his amigo, Ricardo. Louis loved his family dearly and spending time with them brought him so much joy. He enjoyed Nascar and was a devoted Carolina basketball fan. He also enjoyed his many trips to the coast with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lucille Burchette Lyon; granddaughter, Monica Wallace; brothers, Boyce Lyon and Olin Lyon; half-sisters, Vaude Brown, and Lela Nelson; sister-in-law, Nancy Lyon; and brother-in-law, Edgar Spicer. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and expressions of sympathy for our loved one. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at East Bend Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
