Lowell Davis Branon, 81, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024, at Mountain Valley Hospice in Yadkinville, North Carolina. He was born on December 16, 1942, in Surry County, North Carolina, to the late John and Dorothy Branon.
Lowell is survived by his daughters, Teresa (David) Loy, Cristy (Andy) Caudle, and son Lowell Chad Branon, and brother Keith Branon. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Bridgett Branon and brother James Branon.
Lowell was grandfather to Christopher Parks, Ashley (Charlie) Ross, Jeffrey Loy, Seth Caudle, Andrew Higdon, Anson Branon, great-grandfather to Joshua Parks, Keely Brown, Elsie Ross and Easton Lankford.
In addition to being a loving father and grandfather, he was also a skilled chef and poker player. He founded Lowell’s Chicken in Pfafftown, NC, which is now known as Ted’s Kicken Chicken. His famous chicken recipe is still enjoyed by many.
Lowell spent his last days surrounded by family, friends and caregivers from Mountain Valley Hospice and Medi Home Health and Hospice. He came to love all his caregivers.
The family of Lowell Davis Branon would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to special friend Dylan, for his kindness, love, and the help he gave to their Daddy.
The family would also like to thank the staff at Medi Home Health and Hospice of Sparta for showing their Daddy love and care over the past two years of his life. Finally, the family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice in Yadkinville for their amazing care and compassion during Lowell’s last days.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17th, at 12:00 P.M. at Silo Church of Christ located at 9301 Shacktown Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice of Yadkinville.
