Lucinda "Cindy" Shore

Mrs. Lucinda “Cindy” Carter Shore, 88, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at her residence. She was born December 10, 1934 in the State Road community to the late Houston Jones Carter and Viola Blanche Sykes Carter. Mrs. Shore was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She attended business school and then she worked for several years at Wake Forest Law School. Mrs. Shore was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Henry Shore, Sr. of 67 years, and her son, Benjamin Henry Shore, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Jenny Lynne Shore Pinnix; grandchildren, Nathan Clark, Rachel Lucinda Pinnix, Cameron Shore of Brooklyn, NY, and Carter (Kate) Shore of Denver Colorado; daughter-in-law, Brenda Greeson Shore, and sister-in-law, Helen Shore Cox. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00PM, in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Nathan Moore and Rev. Leslie Cox officiating with music presented by Ann Farthing. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Appalachia Service Project, 4523 Bristol Hwy Johnson City, TN 37601. The family wishes to thank Nathan Clark for the loving care given to Mr. and Mrs. Shore. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Shore family.
