Lucretia "Lucy" Henderika Munneke Vriesema

Mrs. Lucretia “Lucy” Henderika Munneke Vriesema, 80, passed away Friday August 7, 2026 at her home. She was born July 12, 1946 in Holland to the late Harm-Jan Munneke and Roelfina Stuut Munneke. Lucy enjoyed working in real estate, spending time with her beloved grandchildren, and was a dog lover. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Janie, and two grandchildren; Marshall Baker and Lauren Brown. Lucy is survived by her loving husband, John Vriesema, four daughters; Carol Baker (David), Brenda Doub (Tim), Melissa Brown (Jeff), and Michelle Vriesema Witthuhn(David), five grandchildren; Selena Baker, Alexis Royall (Parker), Camryn Doub, Karli Hodges (Grant), and Cannon Doub, three brothers; Bernard Munneke, Hank Munneke, and Harry Munneke, and a sister; Cobi VanDerLoo (Jaap). The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM Monday August 10, 2026, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Marshall Baker Comfort Care Fund at Brenner’s Children Hospital in Winston-Salem. The family would like to extend a heart filled think you to Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care that they provided to Lucy during her time of need.
