Lynn Elbert Mounce, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on the 4th of August, 2026. He was born to William and Edna Mounce on April 30th, 1943. Lynn was a long-term member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church. He was a skilled artist and would share his talent with friends and family. His skills in drawing, painting, woodworking, and many other arts, had people describing him as a “jack of all trades”. Not only did Lynn have a love for art, but also his community. He spent many years serving his community as a member of Yadkinville Fire Department. Lynn also served the farmers of the community for over 20 years serving as a mechanic at Whitley Tractor.
Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Reba Hoots Mounce; children, Charles (Lucinda) Mounce, Daris (Dianne) Mounce, Lynnette (Mark) Hutchinson; sisters, Alma Pardue, Karen Pardue; brother, Clayton Mounce; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8th from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church. The memorial service will take place following the visitation at 3:00 by Rev. Chris Hauser. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to South Oak Ridge Baptist Church. The staff of Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville will be serving the Mounce family.
