Major Pearson Woodruff

Boonville Mr. Major Pearson Woodruff, 90, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Woodruff was born October 27, 1931 in Yadkin County to Allen Pearson and Mamie Pardue Woodruff. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Boonville Baptist Church. Mr. Woodruff enjoyed farming and sports, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodruff was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillie Mae Woodruff and Mary Reece; and a brother, Allen Woodruff. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Betty Jane Snow Woodruff; his three children, Kim Renee (Jeffrey) Shaw, Stephen Craig Woodruff, and Anne Marie Woodruff; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Woodruff, Jo Dockery, Ann (Joe) Ellen, and Connie Snow; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Monday, September 12, 2022 at Boonville Baptist Church with Rev. John Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Boonville Cemetery with military honors provided by Army National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service in the Family Life Center.
