Marie Durham Lancaster

Hamptonville Mrs. Maggie “Marie” Durham Lacaster, 86, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Lancaster was born August 18, 1935 in Yadkin County to Albert and Pernie Wagoner Durham. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church. She loved growing flowers, listening to gospel and country music, and loved to flatfoot. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lancaster was preceded in death by her first husband, Edsel Wood; a son, Tony Graham Wood; and a great grandson, Colton Hart. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Charles Frank Lancaster; a daughter, Robin Lynn Shore; a daughter-in-law, Melissa Wood (Charlie) Stokes; grandchildren, Levi, Zane, Brittany, and Kendall; great grandchildren, Sawyer, Emerson, and Emilia; two brothers, Hank (Thelma) Durham and Lester (Wanda) Durham; and 2 special nieces who fought to be her number 1, Teresa and Missy. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Reavill and Pastor David Kimball officiating. Burial will follow at Hanes Grove UMC cemetery. The family will receive friends following the committal service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care of Mocksville or to Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church Women’s Group. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Trellis of Mocksville for the loving care given to Mrs. Lancaster and a very special thank you to Emily Nichole Snow for the visits and “extra love” shown to Marie and Charlie. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Lancaster family.
