Martha Wooten Hoots

Yadkinville Mrs. Martha Mae Wooten Hoots, 90, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022 at Willowbrook Nursing Center. Mrs. Hoots was born May 17, 1931 in Yadkin County to Spencer and Rachel Hutchens Wooten. She enjoyed cooking and sewing while her health permitted. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hoots was preceded in death by her husband, James Herbert Hoots; three sisters, and three brothers. She is survived by three children, Margaret Ann (Dee) Harrison, Jane (Dennis) Hall, and Eric (Melinda) Hoots; grandchildren, Daphne Adams, Preston (Libby) Harrison, and Patrick (Michelle) Harrison; three great grandchildren, Joseph Harker, Deacon Harrison, and Falon Harrison; and a special niece, Ritchie (Grady) Speer. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Yadkin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Chris Hauser and Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Sholar for the loving care given to Mrs. Hoots. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Hoots family.
