Mrs. Mary “Adelee” Hudspeth Brown, 86, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. She was born on January 15, 1940 in Yadkin County to the late Reece Hudspeth and Rosie Stokes Hudspeth. Adelee loved crafts, gardening, going to the beach and sticking her toes in the sand. She loved cooking and was the best at it. Her family will miss her pinto beans, cornbread, and gravy the most. She owned her own craft company called Mountain Crafts, where she painted wooden calendars, ducks, stools, and anything else she could get her hands on.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Parks Brown; her sister, Linda Kay Harris; and her brothers, Ray Hudspeth and Jim Hudspeth. Adelee is survived by her children, Teresa Collins, Melissa (Kenny) Reece, and John Brown; grandchildren, Jennie (Kyle) Delaney, Katie (Ian) Hendrick, and Haley (Austin) Cockerham; grand dog, Clyde; sisters, Brenda (Romie) Flynn and Margie (Shelton) Stikes; a brother, Wayne (Bobbie) Hudspeth; and a special friend, Cathy Cockerham.

The family would like to thank the staff in the 2nd floor ICU at Hugh Chatham Health and SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin for their love and care over Adelee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the West Yadkin Elementary School Food Pantry. The family asks that you write your checks out to West Yadkin Elementary and memo Food Pantry. Mail checks to West Yadkin Elementary at 4432 Us 421 Hwy, Hamptonville, NC 27020.
