Mary Etta McCann

Mary Etta McCann, 87, of Yadkinville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Mary was born on August 3, 1938, to the late Fred McCann and Mary Zeola Wishon McCann.

Mary was a long-time member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she grew to have a close love for the Lord. She had a big heart for everyone she knew, including her work family who she was very close with. Mary had a strong work ethic that was shown through her 35 years of work at Hoots Memorial Hospital. In her free time Mary enjoyed coloring, tending to her flowers, reading and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Elva Lee Jarvis and grandson, Chad McCann.

Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include her three sons, Lanny (Kathy) McCann, Tracy (Jan) McCann, Dale (Wonza) McCann, grandsons, Shannon (Trudy) McCann, Jamie (Melissa) McCann, great grandchildren, Madison McCann, Macie McCann, James McCann, Katie McCann, Gabe McCann, Sam McCann and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville with Rev. Tim Webb officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Shiloh Baptist Church.
