Mary Katherine Cranfill Mize

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates Proverbs 31:31. Mrs. Mary Cranfill Mize, 88, of Yadkinville went to her heavenly home on Monday September 11, 2023 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born March 8, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late Henry Cranfill and Lois Cockerham Cranfill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years John Leroy Mize; two brothers Joseph David Cranfill and Thomas Allen Cranfill. Mary was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, loved flowers, and was an avid fan of UNC Basketball and Atlanta Braves. Surviving are her daughter Kathy (Bill) Arnold, granddaughter Kenya (Jeffery) Wagoner; two step granddaughters Wendy Hodge, Gidget Arnold; great granddaughter Minka Wagoner; four step great grandchildren; special cousin Catherine Transou; granddog Jingles and many loving family members and friends, The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday September 17, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday September 18, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. Joel Riley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church Sewing Ministry 2132 Brandon Hills Rd. Yadkinville NC 27055. The family would like to say a sincere appreciation to the staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital 3rd floor, ICU and respiratory therapy department for their loving care given to Mrs. Mize.
