Mary Wood Willard

Boonville Mrs. Mary Wood Willard, 79 of Boonville, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mary was born December 10, 1942 in Surry County to Howard Bartley and Eliza Stanley Wood. She worked in several textile mills in the area, including 32 years at Unifi. On August 5, 1972 she married the love of her life, Arnie Gene Willard and they began raising their large family. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Arnie; a son, Brent Elwood Adams; brothers, Delmar Wood, James Wood, and LV Wood; and a sister, Rita Ann Wood. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Teresa Cranfill, Brian Willard, Jean (Adam) Hutchins, and Josh Willard (Crystal Casstevens); her grandchildren, Rhonda (Rick) Moran, Ryan Willard, Victoria Cranfill, Josh Willard Jr., Brian (Hailey) Willard, Wesley Willard, Noel Hutchins, Kallie Willard, and Holly Hutchins; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Tobler; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Pastor Randy Quate officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Deep Creek Friends Youth C/O Tracy Shore or Tommy Shore 1142 Deep Creek Church Rd Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice and Woltz Hospice Home for the loving care given to Mary.
