Mattie Fletcher Harris

East Bend Mrs. Mattie Mae Fletcher Harris, 87, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Harris was born February 2, 1935 in Yadkin County to Titus and Vernie Brown Fletcher. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, and basketweaving. Mrs. Harris was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Lou McCauley and Carolyn Kuhn and brother, Roby Donald Fletcher. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 ½ years, Billy Dale Harris; sons, Brent Harris (Dawn Weaver) and Barry Harris (Odeana Vanhoy); grandchildren, McKinnsey Patterson, Hillary (BK) Aton, Rebekah (Marcus) Williams, and Rachel (John) Folley; great grandchildren, Boxer, Brighton, and Bentz Williams; a sister, Martha (Shelton) Crutchfield; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Prospect UMC Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the First Responders for all of their assistance and care. Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend is serving the Harris family.
