YADKINVILLE — Mrs. Melinda Campbell Markman, 59, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center, surrounded by the love of a family who will forever cherish her memory.

Melinda was born November 18, 1966, in Forsyth County to James and Elsie McCann Campbell. Throughout her life, she was known for her kind heart, steadfast faith, and genuine devotion to the people she loved.

For several years, Melinda worked with the Yadkin County Schools Transportation Division, where she formed many friendships and was appreciated for her dedication and caring spirit. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a faithful member of North Main Street Church of Christ in Mocksville, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher.

Carolina Bible Camp held an especially meaningful place in Melinda's heart. It was there that she first met the man who would become her husband. Over the years, she continued to return to the camp as a volunteer, where she served as a lifeguard and counselor, giving her time and encouragement to help others grow in their faith. Serving others was not simply something Melinda did; it was a reflection of the way she lived.

Above all, Melinda treasured her family. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She found great joy in caring for those around her and had a special way of making friends feel like family. One of her greatest joys in recent months was looking forward to the arrival of her first grandchild. Although she will not be here to hold that precious child in her arms, the love and legacy she leaves behind will undoubtedly be shared with the next generation.

Melinda was preceded in death by her father, James Campbell; her aunt, Betty Collins; her uncle, David McCann; her father-in-law, Robert Markman, and her brother-in-law, Brandon Markman.

Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband of 26 years, Jered Markman; her beloved son, Edgar Markman and wife, Kayla; and her eagerly anticipated grandchild. She is also survived by her mother, Elsie M. Campbell; her sisters, Christine Williams and husband, Roger, and Dolores Efird and husband, Roy; her niece, Ashlyn; her grand-nephews, Liam and Barrett; her mother-in-law, Anita Markman; her brother-in-law, Robert Jason Markman; her sister-in-law, Kristie Markman; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Among those especially close to Melinda was Charlotte Carter, a cherished friend whom Melinda loved as a daughter.

Melinda's life was one of faith, service, family, and love. Those who knew her will remember not only the things she did, but the kindness she showed, the relationships she nurtured, and the faith she lived. Her absence will be deeply felt, but the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts and lives of all who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be announced and held at a later date.
