Melody Shore Plowman

Mrs. Melody Lane Shore Plowman of Courtney, age 63, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 11^th 2024, after a long battle with many health problems including a cancer diagnosis in March of 2024. Melody was born July 20th 1960 to the late Roy Harding and Ruby Baity Shore both of Courtney. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was a loving wife to her surviving husband of the home, Robert “Bobby” Plowman of almost 42 years who took amazing care of her day in and day out. She leaves behind her daughters; Amber (Robbie) Williams, Autumn Plowman Higgins, step-daughter April (Patrick) Swyers, and ex son in law who is still a huge part of the family, Bobby Kreul. She was a proud Nana to her grandchildren; Raegan, Caroline, and Miles, and step-grandsons Brad Williams and Chayse Swyers. She was the sister and first friend to her only sibling, surviving brother, Shawn Kelly Shore. Also surviving are her uncles; Charles Baity, Harold Baity, Lloyd Jolley, and RM Hutchens, aunts; Frances (Wayne) Myers and Pauline Baity, and lots of cousins and special friends. Melody loved watching her grandchildren in all they did; sports, dance, theater, playing in the yard, and everything in between, as they were her greatest joy. In her earlier years she was involved with numerous church activities and enjoyed her work for the county attorney. Melody was known and loved by many and will be greatly missed. We hold to the promise that if we too have accepted Christ we will see her again one glad day. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, June 13^th at Gentry Family Funeral Home in Yadkinville from 6pm - 8pm. Her funeral will be held at Courtney Baptist Church conducted by Preachers James Williams and Scott Welch on Friday June 14th at 11am. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to her service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Mountain Valley Hospice SECU Home in Yadkinville for their care and kindness to both Melody and her family in the last few days of her life. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Plowman family.
