East Bend – Melvin Herbert Blakley, 85, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022. He was born October 14, 1936 in Yadkin County to the late Sidney Gray Blakley and Daisy Mae Wall Blakley. Surviving is his wife, Regina Helen Stephenson Blakley; children, Lessia (Scott) Tuttle, Patrick (Jennifer) Blakley, Connie (Wayne) Doss; grandchildren, Amanda (Marty) Minton, Brian Helton, Taylor (Jonathan) Tuttle, Jacob Tuttle, Chelsea Blakley, Lynsey (Justin) Cardwell, Sydni (Danny) Kiger, Rachel (Kason) Doss; great grandchildren, Will, Sadie, Bryson, Ayden, Daisy, Jayden, Kelsey, Austen, Blakley, Briley, Jackson, Ethan, Madyson, Carter, Atley, and Karlee. His memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2022 at East Bend Friends Church by the Rev. Kent Oviatt and the Rev. Wayne Troumbley. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the service on Sunday at East Bend Friends Church.
