Nancy Lee Wooten left this world peacefully on Sunday, December 11 at the Yadkin Nursing Center, where she had resided for several years. Nancy was born July 20, 1929, to the late Howard and Sally Ryan. On October 24,1959 she married Trasker Booth Wooten; they made their home in East Bend. Nancy graduated from Draughn’s Business College with a specialization in Accounting. Nancy’s career began at Hanes Knitwear, which became L’Eggs, which became Hanes Printables, which became Sara Lee. Throughout all the changes, Nancy was an essential part of the Accounts Receivable and Auditing Department, where she spent fifty productive years.

Nancy was an active member of Prospect Methodist Church, helping with Christmas Bazaars, chicken pie dinner fundraisers, her Ladies’ Circle, and whatever else needed doing to support her Church. She was a caring neighbor, friend, colleague, favorite Aunt and Great-Aunt, and a pleasure to all who knew her. Nancy was famous for sending greeting cards for all occasions, and remembering every birthday, wedding anniversary and graduation for twenty-three nieces and nephews, plus a myriad of other family members and friends!

Nancy and Trasker moved to the Yadkin Nursing Center Assisted Living after they both retired, making new friends and staying in touch with family and friends. The family acknowledges with gratitude the kindness and caring Nancy received from the staff.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her in-laws, Pride E. and Lola Wall Wooten.

Nancy is survived by brothers-in-law Leon Wooten and Samuel Wooten and their wives Margaret and Patricia; Sisters-in-law Vergie Mathis and Ruth Wooten; her sister Anne Ryan Neary; Cousins Howard Williams, Carol, Carolyn, and Nancy Williams; twenty nieces and nephews, several great-and great-grand nieces, and great- and great-grand nephews.
