Opal Holman Plowman

Yadkinville Mrs. Opal Nadine Holman Plowman, 90, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Plowman was born July 27, 1931 in Wilkes County to Bynum and Bertha Wolfe Holman. She enjoyed working in her flowers and reading her Bible. Mrs. Plowman loved the Lord and her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Plowman was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Melvin Plowman; two children, Charlie and Kenneth Plowman; and two brothers, Junior and AD Holman. She is survived by three children, Bobby (Melody) Plowman, Greg Plowman (Rosemary), and Billy Joe Plowman; a daughter-in-law, Carol Crews; grandchildren, April (Patrick) Swyers, Amber Kreul, Autumn Plowman, Cassandra Plowman, and Jennifer Plowman; great grandchildren, Chris (Emily), Chayse, Raegan, Caroline, Miles, Savanna, Joshua (Julia), Joseph (Jayden), and Caeleigh; great-great grandchildren, Haylie, Isabella, Willow, and Silas; a sister, Shirley Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Turner’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to thank the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Plowman.
