Patricia Carson Brewer

Mrs. Patricia Carson Brewer, 75, gained her angel wings on October 8, 2026. She passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by loved ones.

Pat was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church and Yadkin Chapter #233, Order of the Eastern Star. She graduated from Appalachian State University and earned her master’s degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

A true teacher at heart, Pat’s calling began in childhood, when she would line up her dolls and instruct them. She went on to earn Teacher of the Year honors in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. She had a special gift for teaching students with special needs, recognizing abilities that others sometimes overlooked. Through patience and encouragement, she helped her students share what they knew and develop confidence in their own gifts. As a curriculum coordinator, she supported fellow teachers in helping children learn and thrive.

Pat also shared her love of teaching through her faith, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Within the Eastern Star, she served as secretary, treasurer, Associate Matron, and in other positions.

Her devotion to family guided many of her decisions. When her mother became ill, Pat took early retirement to care for her. She later homeschooled her youngest son. Seeking better testing options for homeschool families, she founded Brewer Testing Services. Working alongside her husband, she extended her commitment to education beyond the classroom.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, William J. Carson Sr. and Evelyn Whitted Carson, and her brother, William J. Carson Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Dempsey Brewer Jr.; her sons, Wes Brewer, Joshua Brewer, and Daniel Brewer and his wife, Morgan; her grandson, Caleb Brewer; and her nephew, William Carson III.

A viewing will be held at Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Richmond Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Luke Money officiating, followed by a graveside service at East Bend Friends Cemetery. Mrs. Brewer will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richmond Hill Baptist Church, 2205 Richmond Hill Church Road, Boonville, NC 27011.

Pat will be lovingly remembered for her faith, her devotion to family, and her gift for seeing the potential in every child. Her influence lives on in the many lives she touched.
