Patricia C. Casey-Wilson, age 91 passed away with family by her side on May 3, 2025. Mrs. Wilson was predeceased by her husband, Richard H. Wilson in March of 2022. The Wilson’s had made their home in Jonesville, NC where they were loved and supported by family and friends from their church, New Beginnings United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Wilson loved hard. She was the epitome of, “Momma Bear.” If she loved you, her loyalty was unwavering. Her ability to love was only matched by her fortitude and steel to survive and live a better tomorrow. The highlight of Mrs. Wilson's life was family and family gatherings. Until she moved from Vermont to go South, Christmases were a time filled with many generations and loads of food. Mrs. Wilson crocheted blankets for everyone in the family. She even made some baby sets for grandkids to have for their babies born after she passed.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Burlington, VT the daughter of Dorthea Delphine (Robar) O’Leary and Timothy Patrick O’Leary and graduated from Burlington High School in 1951. Mrs. Wilson married a soldier shortly after high school and spent the next 70 years as a Mother and Serviceman’s wife. Mrs. Wilson raised seven children, Jacque (Jon) Boise, Marcee (James) Rossignol, Robert (Emilia) Casey, Victoria (Michael) Cootware, Timothy (Melissa) Casey, John (Tina) Casey and Patricia (Norbert) Casey-Rafter. Mrs. Wilson also helped to raise several of her grandchildren. Including spouses, Mrs. Wilson has 62 descendants to include: children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When her husband retired, Mrs. Wilson settled back in Burlington and worked for General Electric. Mrs. Wilson never missed one of her kids' athletic games, band performances or school events.

As a service wife, Mrs. Wilson traveled all over the world with her large family in tow. She valued her experiences, new friends, new cultural experiences and stories that came from the journey itself.

Mrs. Wilson was a proud member of the VFW Post 6689 Woman’s Auxiliary in Essex Junction, VT. Ultimately becoming the Auxiliary President. Mrs. Wilson worked hard to raise money through many activities but most memorably through the Red Poppy fundraiser. Mrs. Wilson loved to march with her Auxiliary in the Memorial Day and Labor Day Parades in Essex Jct. Mrs. Wilson hand sewed uniform vests for each woman in her Auxiliary. Mrs. Wilson was involved with Shriner’s of Vermont and the Moose Lodge in Vermont and Deland, Florida. Mrs. Wilson was a life time member of the Jonesville Historical Society.

Mrs. Wilson moved South in 2002 making a home for herself and Richard in Deland, Florida for a decade. Deciding she was too far from her kids, Mr. & Mrs. Wilson moved closer to her family by moving to Jonesville, NC where she made the best of friends and was loved dearly by her church family. Every summer Mr. and Mrs. Wilson traveled back to the Burlington Area to stay for the summer and visit with family and friends. Never traveling without her beloved dog Josie and cat Kiki. She will leave behind her very loved dog, Daisy Mae and Kiki the Cat.

Mrs. Wilson leaves behind five children and their spouses: Jacque, Marcee, Timothy, John and Patricia. She was predeceased by her son, Robert and daughter Victoria. Brother, John Robar and sister, Joanie Williams. Son-in-law Jon Boise and Daughter-in-law Lara Wilbur. Mrs. Wilson was also predeceased by 4 husbands: Lloyd Brunelle, Robert Thrower, John Casey and the love of her life, Richard Wilson

Mr. and Mrs. Wilson “adopted” two more daughters in Jonesville: Becky Woods and Terri Williams. Our family cannot thank these two ladies enough for the help, love and support they have provided in the final years of our parent’s lives. Your love for them is invaluable.

Finally, Mrs. Wilson was the Matriarch of the New Beginnings United Methodist Church of Jonesville, NC. She was loved by her church family and served as an usher until her last days.
