Patty Lou Bottoms Newsom

Patty Lou Bottoms Newsom, 86, passed away Saturday March 4, 2023. She was born September 19, 1936 in Stokes County to the late Isaac Lee Bottoms and Mary Elizabeth Pell Bottoms. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Newsom loved her family, reading, cooking, fishing, and singing in the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters Leesa Newsom Williams, Cathy Fay Newsom; two sisters Ola Mae Hawks, Clara Hutchens; five brothers, Doc Bottoms, Golden Bottoms, Ottis Bottoms, Clinton Bottoms, Claude Bottoms. Surviving are her husband Henry Franklin “Frank” Newsom; daughters Christy (Mickey) Gough, Frankie (Mike) Spainhour; grandchildren Mia Gough, Misty Spainhour, Brian Spainhour; great grandchildren Hunter Triplett, Dustin Snow; great great granddaughter Cordilla Triplett; brother Ray Bottoms. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday March 7, 2023 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM following the visitation at the church by Rev. Bobby watts and Rev. Ottis Hurst. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Newsom family.
