Peggy Lou Brawley Joyner - Clarkson

Peggy Lou Brawley Joyner - Clarkson, 88, passed away on Thursday, July `10, 2025. She was born May 9, 1937, in Yadkin County to the late Rev. Samuel Jason Brawley and Bernice Louise Cook Brawley. She was a member of Forbush Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for several years. Mrs. Joyner enjoyed doing crafts and was a wonderful seamstress. Peggy contributed to her community as a 4-H and Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed playing piano and was instrumental in fostering the musical talents of the family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Carl Gray Joyner; daughter, Kathy Busby; brothers, Frank Brawley, Bud Brawley, Bob Brawley, Jim Brawley; sisters, Louise Gunter, Dorothy Cummings, Edith Woody, Betty Agresta, Mildred Hoots, Fanny Sizemore, Patricia Martin; granddaughter, Emily Clarkson. Surviving are her second husband Bill Clarkson; children Karen (Glen) Kuykendall, Casey (Holly) Joyner; Bill’s Children Stacey (Sharon) Clarkson, Mark (Lori) Clarkson; grandchildren Holly (Kris) Stewart, Gina Galicia, Donald Wilson, Ross Wilson, Wayland (Sarah) Joyner Gina Myers, Weston Joyner, Sadie Joyner, Joshua Clarkson, Adam Clarkson, Tyler Clarkson, Timmy Clarkson, Jack Clarkson, Seth (Meagan) Clarkson, Travis Disher, Josh (Maria) Disher; eight great grandchildren Hannah Stewart, Taylor Stewart, Christen Carreto, Courtney Cox, Annika Joyner, Callie Clarkson, Jonah Clarkson . The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday July 13, 2025 at Forbush Baptist Church. Her funeral will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday July 13, 2025 at Forbush Baptist Church by Pastor Brian Poindexter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center and Liberty Hospice and Sharon Clarkson for the loving care given to Mrs. Joyner.
