Mr. Phillip “Phil” Edgar Lineberry, 85, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025. He was born in Forsyth County on May 17, 1940 to Monroe Daniel Lineberry and Edith Hinshaw Lineberry. Phil worked for Western Electric (AT&T) and retired from Nokia. He loved being outdoors and doing many activities such as biking, surf fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed working out at the YMCA and going to walk at the mall. Phil was an excellent story teller and had a special knack for sparking your interest with his stories. He will be missed by all those who loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Gray Lineberry; brother-in-law, Grady F. Driver; and a nephew, Royce Driver. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Hobson Lineberry; a sister, Beth Lineberry (Ernie) Holcomb; a brother, Steve (Gale) Lineberry; sisters-in-law, Sue Lineberry and CoraLee Driver; brother-in-law, Leroy (Kathy) Hobson; nieces, Erin (Kolby) Epley, Misty (Nathan) Key, and Andrea Hobson; and nephews, Devin (Jodi) Lineberry, Mitch (Meia) Lineberry, and Shane (Alicia) Driver. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Gentry Family Chapel in East Bend with Pastor Mitchell See officiating. Interment will follow at Forbush Friends Meeting cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Phil’s memory to Forbush Friends Meeting Cemetery Fund, 4460 Forbush Rd, East Bend, NC 27018. Gentry Family Funeral Service of East Bend is serving the Lineberry family.
