YADKINVILLE – Mrs. Phyllis Ann Moxley Groce, 83, of Old US 421 Highway West passed away peacefully Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born May 4, 1943 in Yadkin County to the late Paul Isaac and Annie Joyce Martin Moxley.

Mrs. Groce was retired with several years of service as a Teachers Assistant at West Yadkin Elementary School. She was a faithful member of North Oak Ridge Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir and participating in different music ministries. Mrs. Groce enjoyed crafting with friends, but her focus and love was on her family, being a loving devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald C. Groce; her 4 sisters, Lucille Groce, Magdalene Day, Carol Benton, and Glenda Gilliam.

Surviving are her son, Todd Groce; daughter, Sherri Plath; 2 grandchildren, Whitney Lane, Logan Groce; great-grandchild, Jase Lane; her brother, Bill Moxley and wife, Mary; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 PM Saturday in the church with Rev. Phillip Link officiating. Interment will follow the service at Swaims Baptist Church in Hamptonville.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the friends and family who visited, called, and prayed for Mrs. Groce, and a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Trinity Elms Skilled Nursing and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for all the loving care and support provided.
