Phyllis Calloway Wooten

EAST BEND -  Mrs. Phyllis Calloway Wooten, 95, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.  She was born July 7, 1930 in Forsyth County to the late Bill and Flora Calloway.

Phyllis was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved being a farmer's wife and actively participated in all aspects of Wooten Farms especially during tobacco season.  She was also owner and operator of CW Mobile Home Park and enjoyed the interactions she had with tenants as they stopped by to pay their rent.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Wooten, Sr., brothers David Calloway, Doug Calloway, and Rodney Calloway.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Charles (Wendy) R. Wooten, Jr. and grandchildren, Rachel Wooten and Samantha Wooten.

Her graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Forbush Friends Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for caring for Phyllis over the past two years.
