Polly May Hoots Shore

Mrs. Polly May Hoots Shore, 78, passed away on November 21, 2024. She was born in Yadkin County on August 2, 1946 to the late Samuel Jason Hoots and Maxine Reavis Hoots. Polly was a faithful member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church for many years. She loved spending time with her dog, Bishop, and her late husband of 52 years, Herbert Shore. 

In addition to her parents, Polly is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hoover Shore; a sister, Ellen Ratledge; a brother, Hurley Hoots; sister-in-law, Sue Hoots; and infant brothers, Larry Dean Hoots & Byron Gray Hoots. She is survived by her children, Tanya Jones and Brent (Marti) Shore; grandchildren, C.J. Jones, Byron Jones, Jason Jones, Jordan Shore, Graylyn Shore, and Ashlyn Shore; a great grandson, Kason Andrew Gray Jones; sisters, Carol Pendegrass, Helen (Larry) Hobson, Rita (Gary) Snow; brothers, Larry (Amanda) Hoots and Dennis Hoots; and a special friend, Ann Hauser. 

A funeral service for Polly will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 3:00 PM at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:30 – 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for their love and care over Polly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Oak Ridge Baptist Church youth fund. 1336 Lone Hickory Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
