Rachel Anna McCollum

Rachel Anna McCollum, 91, of Hamptonville died Monday January 17, 2022 at Willowbrook Nursing Home. She was born in Iredell County, NC on February 15, 1930; daughter of the late Melvin Clint and Lula Effie Gentle McCollum. She was preceded in death other than her parents, brother, James McCall and a sister, Rebekah McCollum. Ms. McCollum was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church, working most of her life in Textile as a sewer. She was a good Christian Lady and loved taking care of her family very much, loved to cook and sew for them all. Survivors include her son; Mark Spicer (Angela), granddaughters, Magen Steele and Tiffany Spicer, four great grandchildren; Bella, Zoey, Sophia and James. and several nieces. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday January 23, 2022 at 3:00 pm Sweet Home Baptist Church with Rev. Otis Hurst officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
