YADKINVILLE-  Mrs. Rachel Taylor Miller, 81, of Courtney-Huntsville Road passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at her home.  She was born October 23, 1941 in Yadkin County to the late Willie Fred and Daisy Hobson Taylor.  Mrs. Miller was a 1960 graduate of East Bend High School, and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.  She was a faithful member of Turner’s Creek Baptist Church where she had served the church as a Bible School Teacher and Sunday School Teacher in years past.  She loved her Sunday School Class and enjoyed sharing from her flower and vegetable gardens with them.  Mrs. Miller also served several years as a Girl Scout Leader, was a member of the Silver Sneakers at the Yadkin Family YMCA, enjoyed time with the Yadkin Cruisers, and was active with the Davie Senior Center.  Her greatest love was spending time and being involved with her beloved daughters and grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Hurley Miller on October 1, 2011, by her grandson, William Benjamin Wagoner; and by her sisters, Ruby Barefoot, Lillian Harris; and brother, Buddy Taylor and an infant brother.  Surviving is her very special friend, Junior Gough and his son, Tracy Gough; her faithful daughters, Rhonda (Eddie) Nau, Carol (Michael) Allgood, Sandra (Blaine) Wagoner; grandchildren, Olivia Nau, Hannah (Ryan) Morris, Winston Allgood, Emma (Daniel) Stewart, Ethan Wagoner; great-grandchildren, Maverick Morris, Stella Morris; brother-in-law, Billy Gene Hutchens; sisters-in-law, Lois Taylor, Marie Hutchens; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Peggy Revels and special nephew, Mike Smitherman; and lots of her special “Lady Friends”.  The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 PM Friday at Turners Creek Baptist Church.  Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM Friday in the church with Rev. Scott Welch and James Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Miller will be available for viewing after 12:00 – 5:00 PM Thursday and 8:00 AM – 12:00PM on Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  The family would like to express their gratitude to her caregivers, Diane, Marlana, Julia, and to Mountain Valley Hospice for all their loving care and support.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
