Mr. Raunchy “Mickey” Redmond, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. He was born in Iredell County on September 1, 1958 to Bruce Redmond and Mary Avon Redmond. Mickey graduated from Forbush High School. He worked at Yadkin Lumber Company and for Junior Cole’s Construction and Concrete. Mickey had a fun sense of humor and was known to be a little bit “nosey” and want to know everyone’s business. After his health began declining, he wasn’t able to get out as much, but he loved watching TV and always had his remote close by. He loved visiting with his family to eat fresh meals, as he wasn’t a fan of leftovers. Most of all, he loved all of his family very much and they loved him back more than he could imagine. Mickey will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Alice Chambers, Richard Chambers, Bruce Michael Redmond, and Dennis Redmond. He is survived by two sisters, Regina Williams and Diedra Redmond; a special nephew, Craig Chambers; nieces and nephews, Traci Conner, Michelle Hayden, Rakem Chambers, and Patrick Williams; great nieces and nephew, Santana “Jasmine” Williams, Ebony Williams, and Malik Dunlap; and a cousin, Ezra Whit.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery in Harmony, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Redmond family.
