Her parents raised her in a loving home with her sisters Elizabeth, Betina and special sister, Peggy Somers. She attended Courtney Elementary and Forbush High School. As a young person she loved spending time with her dog Sputnik and riding her horse, Blaze. She was expected to work hard and help whoever she could throughout her life. She taught him how to cook, clean and do his own laundry. Since then, Bruno has been to visit his NC family and “Beck”, he called her, two additional times over the years. In 2019, she was diagnosed with Liver Failure and underwent a Liver transplant at Duke Medical Center.
