Rev. Betty Baldwin Haynes 87, of Millers Creek, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Westwood Nursing and Rehab in Wilkesboro, N.C.
Betty was born in Wilkes County on April 11, 1938, the daughter of the late Rev. H.A. Baldwin and Para Lee Davis Baldwin. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, and the Berean School of the Bible, Global University of the Assemblies of God. She was ordained a minister by the General Counsel of the Assemblies of God. Rev. Haynes traveled several years as an evangelist, served as lead pastor for Cedar Lane Assembly of God in Greenville, S.C. for 16 years, and Blue Ridge Worship Center in Glendale Springs, N.C. for 4 years.
Along with her parents Rev. Haynes was preceded in death by her brothers Henry A. Baldwin, James H. (Sonny) Baldwin, and David J. Baldwin, her sisters Esther Baldwin Hutchens, Eunice Baldwin Minton, Naomi Baldwin Yates, and Frances Baldwin Brady.
Rev. Haynes is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, the Rev. Lowell Gray Haynes. Lowell says “No man could have a better wife!”
The family will visit with friends at Harvest Time Ministries and Christian Academy, 400 Winston St, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Rev. Betty Haynes’ funeral service will be conducted at the church at 2:00 pm, Rev. Gene Shepherd, Rev. Jeffrey Barlow, Rev. James Dodd and Rev. Lowell Haynes will officiate the service. Interment will be at 12:00 pm, Monday, November 10, 2025 at Forest Hill Memorial Park, 1307 West Old Hwy 64, Lexington, NC 27295.
