Rev. Roby Howard Wagoner

Rev. Roby Howard Wagoner, 80, of Statesville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Gordon Hospice House. Howard was born on August 1, 1945, in Yadkin County to the late Roby Wagoner and Louise Shore Wagoner.

Mr. Wagoner was a longtime member of Monticello Baptist Church. He spent his life spreading God’s word to others. Howard was called to preach at 12 years old and was licensed to preach at 14 years old. He loved singing, mowing, yard work and wood working. Howard enjoyed spending time at auctions seeing what treasures he could find.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his brothers, Harrold Cecil, RJ, Michael and Arthur Wagoner, sister, Betty Baity and nephew, Morris Macimore.

Those left to cherish Howard’s memory include his wife of 62 years, Linda Wagoner, children, Tammy Josey, Kimberly Denny (Scott), Cecil Wagoner, grandchildren, Kristin Josey, Hannah Fugaro (Nick), Hunter Goodwin (Shelby), Kevin Josey, Jack Denny, great granddaughter, Naomi Goodwin and nieces, Michelle Barker, Twilla Barteld.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday, January 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, at 2:00 PM at Gentry Family Chapel of Yadkinville with Pastor Terry Rausch and Rev. Glenn Dancy officiating. Burial will follow in Yadkin Memorial Gardens.
