Ricky Lee Newman

State Road – Ricky Lee Newman, 73, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023.  He was born March 8, 1950 in Surry County to the late Robert Monroe Newman and Pauline Durham Newman.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Becky Hemric Newman; son, Robert Newman; sisters, Becky Chappell, Bobbie Casstevens; brother, Robert Newman.  Surviving is his daughter, Mamie Holbrook; step-daughters, Robin (Jackie) Minton, Melissa (Brent) White; grandchildren, Layken Holbrook, Dillon Holbrook, Jade (Andrew) Tate; sister, Vickie (Donnie) Adams; and several nieces and nephews.  His graveside service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Fall Creek Baptist Cemetery by the Rev. Don Hudson.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 243 N.
