Roger James Luffman, 72, passed away Monday June 6, 2022. He was born July 30, 1949 in Surry County to the late James Bradford Luffman, Jr. and Bennie Absher Luffman. Mr. Luffman served, and retired from the US Air Force. He had his private Pilot license and he enjoyed to fly and do wood working. After his retirement he enjoyed to travel and camp. He was a member of Little Elkin Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby Luffman. He is survived by his wife Brenda Childress Luffman, children Jamie (Mike) Holbrook, Holly (Robert) Hutchens, Brandon (JoAnna) Luffman, Heather Luffman (Jeffrey Martin); grandchildren Nicholas (Elizabeth) Brown, Sydney Hutchens, Layne Hutchens, Thad Hutchens, Duncan Luffman, Allena Luffman, Connor Luffman, James Dancy (Sarah Carter), Lucas Dancy, Keely Martin; step grandson Garrett (Megan) Holbrook; step great grandchildren Emerson Holbrook, Ella Holbrook, Eden Holbrook; two brothers Clyde (Christy) Luffman, Michael Luffman. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday June 8, 2022 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 1:30 PM Thursday June 9, 2022 at Little Elkin Baptist Church by Rev. Seth Siceloff and Rev. Steve Pope. Mr. Luffman will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the Air Force Honor Guard and VFW Post 10346. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the members of Little Elkin Baptist Church and the staff of Pruitt Health Care for the loving care given to Mr. Luffman. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Luffman family.
