Ronald Jay Blake

Hamptonville – Ronald Jay Blake, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 23, 2026. He was born July 7, 1947 in Gaston County to the late J.C. Blake and Virginia Greene Blake. Ronald was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, but his favorite was watching the New York Yankees and UNC Tarheels basketball. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Lenora Faye Blake Batchlor; brothers, Gary Lester Blake and Tony Roger Blake. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Jean Davis Blake; children, Winfield “Scott” Underwood, Angela Blake Wells, Jennifer Blake Little; grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah) Underwood, Kayley, Lindsay, Abbey, Maggie, Briar; six great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Mt. View Baptist Church by the Rev. David Childress and the Rev. Terry Long. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Mt. View Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Yadkin Dialysis Center for all the love and care shown to Ronald. Flowers accepted or memorials can be made to Mt.
