Ronald Gardner Whitmore

Mr. Ronald “Ron” Gardner Whitmore, 76, passed away on June 5, 2024. He was born in Baltimore County, Maryland on February 6, 1948 to Eugene and Dorothy Whitmore. Ron grew up in Woodlawn, Maryland. He was a believer in Christ and was a faithful Christian. Ron knew a little about everything. He enjoyed many things including gardening, wood working, and taking care of animals great and small. He was an avid motorcycle rider and had been riding for over 60 years. 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Dorothy Whitmore. Ron is survived by his wife, to whom he has been with for 25 years, Carolyn Malloy Whitmore; daughters, Christine (Alfred) Carbonell and Lora Howard; grandchildren, Amanda Howard, Brenden Carbonell, Darren Carbonell; great-grandchildren, Bodhi Carbonell, Griffynn Carbonell, and Nathaniel Howard; step-sons, Christopher Taylor and Jordan Taylor; a sister, Diane Kicas; nephews, Doug Kicas and Kevin Kicas; a niece, Debbie Kicas-Reid; and his beloved dog, Moses. 

A Celebration of Life for Ron will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank the ICU team and the Palliative Care team at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for their love and care over Ron.
