Ruby Brandon Brendle

Mrs. Ruby Nell Brandon Brendle passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026. She was 88.

She was born November 12, 1937 in Yadkin County to the late Arthur and Mattie Jester Brandon. She graduated from Boonville High School as valedictorian. In 1960, she married Ben Shore Brendle.

Ruby was well-known for owning and operating The Hairstyling Shop for thirty-five years. She was a member of Deep Creek Friends Meeting, where she taught Sunday School for nearly sixty years. She also played piano and organ, and she sang in the church choir and in other music groups.

Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; playing and listening to music; and watching sports, especially football.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; her mother and father; and nine half-brothers and -sisters. She is survived by her sons: Scott Brendle (Amie Brendle) and Jay Brendle (Angela Brendle). She is survived by five grandchildren: Benjamin Brendle (Abbey Brendle); William Watson-Brendle; Julie Burkey (Brian Burkey); Taylor Brendle; and Jacob Brendle. She is survived by two great-grandchildren: Mac Burkey and Joseph Burkey. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her funeral will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Deep Creek Friends Meeting with pastor Randy Quate. Burial will follow in the Deep Creek Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM immediately preceding the funeral at the church.

The family would like to express special thanks to Carolyn Reavis, her special caregiver and friend, and special friend Doris Snow.

The family would also like to thank the staff of Yadkin Nursing Care Center and Liberty Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Brendle.
