Sally Underwood Ragan

Winston-Salem – Sally Louise Underwood Ragan, 92, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023.  She was born December 24, 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Webb and Adelia Whitaker Underwood.  She was a graduate of Women’s College (UNCG).  She taught at several different schools, most recently Sherwood Forest Elementary.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ragan; sisters, Vera Long, Lydia Brendle; brothers, Carl, Donald, and Rex Underwood.  Surviving is her daughter, Malynda (Dr. Peter) Sarbone; grandchildren, Joshua Daniel Sarbone, Andrew Jared (Desiree) Sarbone; great grandchildren, Kayla, and Kelsey Sarbone; and several nieces and nephews.  Her graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Center Global Methodist Cemetery by Dr. Peter Sarbone, the Rev. Justin Douglass, and the Rev.
