Winston-Salem – Sandra “Sandy” Louise Torrie Higgs, 72, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024. She was born May 15, 1952 in Forsyth County to the late Paul Torrie and Joyce Welborn. She is survived by her daughters, Chanel (Alton, Jr.) Phillips, Tori Higgs; step-daughter, Nadia Higgs; grandchildren, Caylyn Phillips, Carter Phillips, Ashlynn Phillips, Avery Phillips, and expecting very soon Alton Phillips III; also, six bonus grandchildren; sister, Janie (Cliff) Stanley; brother, Steve (Pam) Torrie. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the Higgs family.
