Ms. Sharon Kay Blevins, 67, passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in McDowell County, West Virginia on February 19, 1958 to Harry “Red” Julian Blevins and Ruby Eleanor Hall Blevins. She was well known in her small town of Welch, West Virginia. Sharon started working as a teller at First Clark National Bank while she was in high school. She attended Concord College, where she earned an associate degree. Following college, she worked at McDowell County National Bank, where she worked as a banker in the proof department. Sharon was sweet, kind, often shy, but always happy. She had a stubborn streak to her that helped her fight her illness for as long as she possibly could. Sharon loved her family more than anything. Her son, J.J. was the light of her life. He was her whole world and she was always present in every aspect of his life that she was able to be there for. Everyone who had the special privilege to know her will miss her deeply.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Blevins. She is survived by her son, J.J. Blevins and his wife, Julie Blevins; grandchildren, Amilya, Jayden, Gio, Josue, Cecilia, Catalina, Tiago, and a baby boy who is due to be born on November 10th; brothers, Rick (Kathy “Chuck”) Blevins and Chris (Becky) Blevins; very special cousin, Susie (Pepe) Vasallo; ex-husband Johnny Joe “J.J.” Blevins; grandson Jamir; and many nieces and nephews.
